Right or Wrong?
Personally, school officials are getting too strict. In Alabama, a high school senior was suspended at prom, the one night seniors have to enjoy. In my opinion, the suspension was very unnecessary because the dress was not in any violation of a school dress code. Prom night is supposed to be the night when seniors can have fun and look nice as long a it is not outrageous. This young teens dress was very lovely and not over exposed. Many school's do take the dress codes seriously when it is necessary. I believe the school's decision was wrong and this teen was right to speak up about it.
Big Deal?
A couple of years back, many homosexual celebrities were afraid to expose themselves in fear of what society may think. In these times many homosexuals are proud of who they are and are ready to expose themselves. Former pop star, Ricky Martin recently announced to the world that he is "proud to be gay." Many homosexuals famous or not are happy being homosexual. There are many famous homosexuals that are accepted in this nation. For example, Ru Paul, Adam Lambert, Ellen Degeneres and etc are openly known for being popular and homosexual. Although i do not understand why being homosexual has to be so secretive, this interview with Joy Behar explained why it's such a big deal to be or not to be open with homosexuality.
Artist Wars
Many Jamaican artist are known for their great music but yet, foul words and ever-lasting wars. In these days artists are now getting too out of control. Dancehall artist Vybz Kartel from Gaza and artist Movado from Gully are known for the war between the two groups. Although i am a huge fan of Dancehall music I truly believe this war should come to an end. It is leading to many Jamaicans and Dancehall fans to war amongst each other, fighting to figure out if Gaza is better than Gully. This war between the two groups has been going on for many years now, although they have claimed to settle their differences many times before, the foul words in the music they sing says otherwise. Recently, three popular artist Gaza Kim, Lisa Hype and Black Ryno have left the Gaza group which led to even more controversy with the remaining Gaza members and the Gully group. The former Gaza members and the remaining Gaza member are currently at disagreements because all parties feel violated in different ways. The Gully group however sees this as an opportunity to make hit music against the members. The "beef" between these music artist has gotten a bit out of hand and is a problem for many events and concerts that are held in Jamaica. At the end of every year there is a reggae concert named Sting that is held in Jamaica, Jamaica officials recently stated that neither artist will be allowed to perform unless the war is ended. In my opinion that statement was necessary, but even if both artist agree to get along for one night, the everlasting war will continue through their music.

Social networking.. a bit too enhanced?
Throughout the recent years there has been a major change in social networking. Many social networking sites have been either abandoned or enhanced in many ways. Although social networking is very popular and somehow an entertaining hobby of some sort, it has also been very dangerous in various ways. Social networking does have its negatives and positives. In 1997, SixDegrees.com was launched, it was the first social networking site in New York City that allowed people to stay in contact using personal profiles. Following after the launching of SixDegrees many other social networks become known such as, Bebo, Hi5, Tagged, Myspace, Sconex, Blogger, Facebook, Twitter and etc. As a young adult I often use these social networking sites, during my high school years Sconex and Hi5 were one of the most popular social networking sites. Sconex is no longer available for use, but it was once a very popular social network used for high school students to keep in touch with their classmates and friends. Another popular site was Myspace. Myspace is rarely used in 2010 but it was the number one site for almost anyone. It can be used for high school, employees, college students, musicians, and etc. Myspace did however have its negative consequences. Many people of various ages were ridiculed, raped or killed by meeting random people, either being stalked or arranging "killer dates." Although there were many issues regarding social networking, people continued to use these sites.
In 2004 Facebook was established. It started as a student only based website but eventually began its way acoss the globe and expanded into a general social networking site. Facebook has been popular for many years but Twitter is now seen as a threat to other social sites.
From the starting of SixDegrees up to the social networking sites of 2010, these sites has enhanced with their technology. Many new sites such as Google Buzz and etc, are allowing locations to be shared. In my opinion, i dislike the new technology change and there have been rumors about Facebook may soon be having the same feature. Although many people will really enjoy this new feature it can also be a very negative add-on. Negative people will use this oppurtunity for wrong doings and the location feature can possibly become an issue. I really believe that many people do however take these "Social Sites," a bit too seriously which can be the main possible issue. These sites are mainly to reconnect with family and friends and not to meet people and possibly kill them. Even if all of these problems were to continuously occur social networking will always remain, enhance and expand.

Is it just me or are TV shows not as interesting as they used to be? Many old school TV shows were more meaningful, fun and very entertaining in my opinion. Many TV shows that are previewed on channels such as Nickelodeon, Disney, ABC and etc are not as creative as shows made in the 90's. Many shows that are viewed on these channels now are mainly based on reality or on a subject that is not entertaining for the entire family. The 90's television shows, for example, Sesame Street, Hey Arnold, Dinosaurs, Gullah Gullah Island, All That, Arthur, Sister Sister, Bob The Builder and more, were shows that were interesting and appropriate for the whole family. Many TV shows in this generation are similar to many other shows that are viewed on various channels, for example Drake and Josh on Nickelodeon is very similar to The Suite Life of Zack and Cody on Disney. In my opinion, the TV shows that are considered "educational" or "interesting" such as Dora the Explorer, Hannah Montana, Max and Ruby, Avatar, Spongebob Squarepants and etc are no where near entertaining compared to the shows i enjoyed growing up. Television has completely changed!
